The Holy Week is lived each year in Lanzarote with numerous liturgical events taking palce in different municipalities of the island: Processions, Celebrations of the Passion, Eucharists and many religious ceremonies.

During Holy Week Christians celebrate faith events related to the last days of Jesus, including in particular, his passion, death and resurrection.

Inside the Passion Week is celebrated the Eucharist on Holy Thursday, commemorating the Crucifixion of Jesus on Holy Friday and Easter at the Easter Vigil during the night of Holy Saturday Easter Sunday.

In 1574 a small church was build, with paintings of San Pedro and San Ginés. After the inundation, in 1665, both works were restored, and after being enlarged, the church was considered a paris-church.
